Circle : Every point on a circle is equidistance from some fixed point, which is the center. A circle is divided into 360 degrees. Only one circle can pass through three points not in a straight line. Chord: A length of line or segment connecting two points on a circle. Diameter: Length of line (chord) passing through the center of a circle Radius: A line Segment connecting the center of a circle to any point on the circle. The dimension is half that of a diameter. Tangent: A line which has only one point touching the circle. A tangent is always perpendicular to the radius. Arc: Is part of a circle. Pi: The ratio of the diameter of a circle to its cir- cumference. The symbol for Pi is . Pi=(3.141592654) Circumference: The distance around a circle (the perimeter). The cir- cumference = diameter x Area: x Radius 2 http://www.dvcplanners.com
